Kiwi Socks Supporting Kiwi Conservation

In partnership with Save the Kiwi, Conservation Socks has created a special kiwi sock to celebrate one of Aotearoa’s most iconic native birds.

The kiwi is deeply tied to our national identity, yet most New Zealanders have never seen this unique bird in the wild.

$10 from every pair sold is donated to Save the Kiwi. These socks support the conservation work helping kiwi survive and thrive. So future generations can one day see kiwi in the wild.

Saving Kiwi Across Aotearoa

Kiwi once thrived across Aotearoa, with their calls filling the night. Today, kiwi numbers continue to decline in many unmanaged areas.

Introduced predators and habitat loss remain the greatest threats. In places where predator control is in place, the decline is slowing and some kiwi populations are beginning to grow, showing that dedicated conservation work can make a real difference.

Save the Kiwi works to reverse the decline of the national kiwi population and create more kiwi-safe habitat across Aotearoa. Their work brings together iwi, conservation groups, communities, organisations and the Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai.

Save the Kiwi supports kiwi recovery in its many forms. From supporting predator control and research, to hatching and raising kiwi chicks for release into the wild, they are bringing kiwi from endangered to everywhere.
