Quarter 2, 2026 Donation Update

Quarter 2 results are in, and Conservation Socks has had its best quarter to date!
A big thank you to my friends, family, and strangers who have supported me from the start of this journey. You know who you are. Every order, share, and kind message has meant so much to me.
Conservation Socks proudly donates $1 from every pair sold to conservation efforts across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Over the past few months, I have spent a lot of time researching conservation projects across the motu and have been blown away by the number of incredible initiatives out there. So many are run by volunteers and local communities of people who simply care.
Picking one initiative was hard... But the story behind Predator Free Rakiura (Stewart Island) really stuck with me.
In Māori tradition, when Māui fished up Te Ika-a-Māui, the North Island. Te Waipounamu, the South Island, was his waka and Rakiura was the anchor stone.
DOC draws on this story by describing Predator Free Rakiura as an “anchor stone project” in the effort to make New Zealand predator free. The hope is that, one day, Rakiura will become a safe haven for many of Aotearoa’s distinctive species. Including those currently on the brink of extinction, like the Kākāpō.
So this quarter, Conservation Socks is proud to support Predator Free Rakiura and the work being done to help turn one of Aotearoa’s most remarkable places into a stronghold for native wildlife.
Predator Free 2050, here we come.
